January 29, 2026. Project Urdar was a research and development project led by Daniel Löwenborg at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History at Uppsala University, and Åsa M Larsson at the Swedish National Heritage Board. The aim was to make the digital field documentation produced by the the Heritage Board archaeological unit between 2000-2014 FAIR and archive compliable in the long term.
The project became an integrated part of Swedigarch, forming the basis of the development of AGES – a service for archaeological geodata for the infrastructure. In 2025 the datasets were made available via the e-archive at the National Heritage Board (Arkivsök).
A final report in Swedish on the project is now concluded, outlining the aims, scope, methods, and deliveries of the finished project. The report is in Swedish, but below are listed additional publications by the project that are in English.
Larsson, Å. M. & Löwenborg, D. 2026. Slutrapport Projekt Urdar – infrastruktur för arkeologiska undersökningsdata. Dnr RAÄ-2020-627. Riksantikvarieämbetet.
